Geurin
and Foster win again!
Franchi takes home
“Fight Of The Night”
honors. - Nov 23, 2009
The
Bombsquad had another
busy week with fighters
competing in four shows
in just eight days.
Kenny Foster (5-1)
notched two big wins in
an eight day period,
first winning The
Wartown Beatdown
145lb title by tapping
out a tough Chris Foster
(5-2) in a Rear Naked
Choke and then taking
out Doug Sonier (3-5) in
a first round arm
triangle at True Cage
Warriors. Mike
Geurin also had an
outstanding performance
over the weekend. Just
two weeks after winning
by submission, Geurin
(7-0) stops Jesus Ortiz
in the Main Event of
True Cage Warriors
by KOing him in just 21
seconds of the first
round. Mike Winters
(2-0) also won by
unanimous decision in an
amateur contest the
night before in Salem,
New Hampshire for
Combatzone.
The
Wednesday, November 18th
card at the Palms in Las
Vegas was host to WEC 44
and was arguably the
most entertaining card
to date. BombSquad
fighter John Franchi
(5-2) shared “Fight of
the Night” honors with
Cub Swanson (14-3) in a
memorable fight that
went back and forth for
three rounds and was
packed-full of
takedowns, punches and
kicks. Cub Swanson
ended the fight with a
guillotine choke with
just 10 seconds left in
this close battle.
BombSquad Fighters
Remain Undefeated - Nov
06, 2009
Harrisburg,
Pennsylvania, November
6, 2009 --Team BombSquad
has another perfect
night of fights going
2-0 with two finishes.
Anthony Leone (6-0) and
Mike Geurin (6-0) both
improve their records
and stay undefeated at
the PA Fighting
Championships run by
Blackman Promotions.
Despite being in enemy
territory and fighting
hometown talent, the
BombSquad fighters were
able stay composed and
work their game plans to
pull out the win.
Mike Geurin fought a
tough Boris Rikita (8-3)
and caught him in the
first round with a
perfectly executed front
choke, making Rikita the
5
th
straight opponent Geurin
has finished. Mike
commented after the
fight that, "Working in
the gym with partners
like Jon Jones, Mike
Massenzio, and Pat
Audinwood really pushes
you and makes you ready
for any opponent."
In the Main Event,
and arguably the "Fight
of the Night," Anthony
Leone (6-0) and Dustin
Pague (5-2) put on back
and forth brawl that
left opportunities for
both guys to finish. In
the first round, Leone
dominated with his
takedown and grappling
skills, placing Pague in
real danger. The second
round was a different
story however, and Pague
came out firing. Leone
fought out of a few
tough positions and
finished the fight with
a North South choke.
Leone said "That was my
toughest test yet,
especially being able to
come back from shoulder
surgery and perform like
this, I had a lot of fun
out there."
