Biography
Nick Calandrino is a mixed martial arts fighter with Team Bombsquad. He was born and raised in Emerson, NJ home of the Cavos. He started his athletic career by playing football at age 7 and wrestling at age 6. He continued to play both of these sports throughout high school. He was a three sport captain his senior year in football, wretling and track. He was an All-County and All-North Jersey linebacker in football, setting the career tackle record for his school. In wrestling, he had 115 career wins, 97 pins (3rd All-time in NJ), and a 4th place finish in the NJ state tournament. After graduating from HS, he went to Ithaca College to pursue a degree in Health and Physical Education. In College he continued his wrestling career and had 101 career wins, 55 career pins (an IC record). His senior year he was named captain of the wrestling team and finished 5th in the National Tournament.
Ithaca College is where Nick met Ryan Ciotoli, coach and trainer of Team Bombsquad. After getting his B.A. in Health and Physical Education, he decided to stay in Ithaca for a 5th year to obtain his Master’s Degree in Health. He is currently the graduate assistant for the wrestling team and trains every day with Team Bombsquad.
His main interests include sports; wrestling, mma, and football. His other interests are horror movies and 80s rock/heavy metal music. His favorite movies are Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan, Puppet Master, and Vision Quest. His favorite bands are Twisted Sister, Motley Crue, and Alice Cooper. When he is not coaching, training, or going to school he keeps in touch with his friends and family in Cavo Country.
